Preview
Last year, the Eagles gave me one of my few scares, and in fact I went into halftime trailing against them. They have a good secondary, which means Kings will have to work hard to find the open man. They're sound tacklers, and play disciplined football.
Their offense is sound, but if you hit Donnie Football, he crumbles. That's bad news for Philly, because I have the most prolific sack machine since... ever.
It's raining. I don't like the rain.

2008 Week 8: (4-2) Carolina Panthers @ (7-0) Detroit Lions
Preview
The Panthers are a solid football team, especially defensively. I expect heavy pressure from Julius Peppers, and sound tackling all around. I doubt this will be a big Yards-After-Catch day, rather I expect some dinking and dunking by Kings to move us down the field.
The Carolina offense hasn't blown the roof off anybody, and that serves well for me. I am murder against the run, so Jake Delhomme will have to beat me. He has Steve Smith, but I have Austin Ryan.
What will give?

Dante Hall thought that two big Carolina linebackers bearing down on him wasn't a good enough reason to call Fair Catch. Ugh. The things these players do.
Kings has been Kings; a little wild, a little crazy, and plenty productive. He's working a perfect passer rating through one quarter. Austin Ryan has two sacks and a couple TFLs. Typical.
The Panther defense hasn't been intimidating at all. My offense is having it's way with them.

Kings won't be posting any perfect QB ratings today. He threw a wobbly and bad idea of a pass towards CJ that was picked off, right before Ryan picked him up with a PickSix. Four Carolina plays later, Bryant hopped in front of a lob to Steve Smith and returned it to the house.
My defense has been stellar; the Panthers have only gained 63 yards. Their rushing game has been much better than expected, giving me fits for the majority of the second quarter. DeAngelo Williams has faked out Ryan, Boss Bailey and Ernie Sims. That sort of thing doesn't happen everyday.
Being up 35-7 at half is a good feeling. Kings has been fine, aside from the pick, and CJ is really outclassing Steve Smith.

Beat-down. Absolutely blowing them away. Their offensive line is absymal, so I'm getting ruthless pressure and many, many sacks on Delhomme. Plus, they have a crappy secondary, so Kings is slicing them apart.
This might be a 70 point explosion.

2008--From Week 1 To Now
Let me make something clear. I am a Run and Gun offense, but it's really more Gun than run. I often do not call a single running play all game long; I'll scramble with Jacen sometimes, if necessary, but my running back, Kevin Jones, is hardly used. I've tried to deal for Reggie Bush and Adrian Peterson, respectively, but both will require a 1st Round Pick, and as I remind myself during the negotiation, I don't run the ball!. If I really needed to deal for a player, it'd probably be for a great corner.
I fired Rod Marinelli in the off season, and promptly tried to hire Jon Gruden and then NE Coach (Bill Belicheaterchick), both refused, so I hired Martyball. He's represnted on the sidelines by this weird looking Founding Fathers guy. It's odd. I'll can him in the offseason and hire someone else; hopefully Gruden if he's available (Tampa sucks hard in this version of reality).
I started off 2008 with a bang.

He slaughtered Jacksonville, and then Minnesota, and then Tampa, all with ruthlessness that I love. Austin Ryan was dominating, too; he sacked Brandon Cox, Tampa's new QB, 7 times, forcing three fumbles.
